Event Details:

The Chevrolet Grand Prix, Canada’s biggest sports car race event, rolls into Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) July 7-9. But before the exotic prototypes and GT race cars take on the legendary track just north of Bowmanville, fans can preview the race weekend excitement at Clarington presents the Chevrolet Grand Prix RaceFest on Wednesday, July 5.

 This free event is at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

RaceFest features race cars and drivers from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, General Motors high-performance vehicles (including the Chevrolet Grand Prix Pace Car- a Corvette Z06), other community and motorsport displays, food trucks, a DJ, and prize giveaways of race tickets and CTMP swag.

The line-up of WeatherTech Series race cars that will be on display is stellar: the GTD Pro class Corvette Racing Corvette C8.R, the GTP class Whelen Engineering Cadillac V-Series.R prototype, and two AWA Racing Duqueine D08 LM3P class prototypes. The Michelin Pilot Series team Thaze Competition will join them with their Mercedes-AMG GT GT4.

Canadian racing legend and CTMP co-owner Ron Fellows will attend, along with three Canadian drivers competing on race weekend: Michael DiMeo (Thaze Competition), Orey Fidani and Anthony Mantella, both of AWA Racing. They’ll be on hand to chat racing with fans and sign autographs.
